I wanted to share my story in hopes it might help...
After experiencing the expected symptoms (cramps, bloody diareah, stools) my Gastroenterologist diagnosed me with at first proctitis..then colitis.
Had 2 colonoscopys, took for months medications that didnt help and caused headaches (sulfer based)  The only medication that seemed to help was the cortison enema liquid.
This was over a year ago, and my symptoms have all gone away.  My colitis went away by NOT riding the bus to work anymore.  Now here me out, I have gone back to test my theory and have discovered the same result each time.
My case may be an isolated one, but intense, frequent vibrations (such as those from a vibrating message chair or pad, or in my case, a bus engine while stopped frequently in traffic)  were causing my colitis symptoms.  Since avoiding all vibrating devices..I am fine.
My digestive tract must be sensitive to constant vibrations.
I tested my theory several times by using a vibrating message cushion and/or taking the bus for several days..and the symptoms started up again.  Hope this helps someone

Hi and welcome to Healingwell :) Vibration makes sense since it "jiggles" the intestine around which can stimulate it into action. For some of us though, it may not be that simple but I'm glad you found what was causing your symptoms and are doing better. So you're not on any meds right now?

I have been symptom free and medication free for over a year now.  If I start using my ****su message pad in the hi vibration mode for a few days..I will start to feel the symptoms again.  My Doc of course doesnt believe me...all I can do is get the word out to anyone who might be vibrating their intestines..

Also,  My symptoms were pretty intense for a period of 6 months, I went thru every aspect of my life from exercise, diet, dietary supplements...Anything I changed in life that might have contributed to this condition.  I had started taking the bus to work a couple months before to save a buck...and was sitting in the back of the nus where the engine is...Never gave thought to the intense vibs the bus was rolling thru my body at every stop.  Peristalsis moves the food thru the intestines..For some reason my sensitivity to vibration put my intestines into a spasm mode which led to my condition.  I only have my own results and testing I have done to back this up.
