I am contemplating going to the Chicago symposium and now I just might go to meet other people. I was going to drag my husband but I think he might be a little fried on my UC/Imuran rants and my mom just doesn't get it, in many ways. She keeps asking my if I can just wean off the Imuran and just take Lialda. If it were only that easy.
Here's my conundrum, though: my specific area of interest is UC care during pregnancy, specifically while on Imuran, as I had a rough pregnancy last year and would like(love) to have more children in the next couple of years. Every time I research Imuran and pregnancy or just UC in general these days, I just get really, really angry and frustrated about all of the above. I also have some issues with my dr. So I wonder if going to this conference will just get my more angry and riled up or will I feel better and more informed? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
Diagnosed with UC in 2004
Had flares all through pregnancy last year, and current flare on and off for about 6 months, Imuran helped me get off Pred. and get into remission!!
Currently on Lialda, Imuran 75mg,
prenatal vitamin(taking for folic acid and other nutrients), calcium, and Bifidus Balance FOS probiotics.
Mesalamine enemas as needed...
