Hi. Just need some clarification please, regarding whether or not you have to "hold in" the cortifoam the same way you do an enema. I know the purpose of the cortifoam is to be able to take it and then go about your day, without having to lay still for 30 minutes the way you do with enemas. but, what I am wondering is, is it ok to go to the bathroom after using cortfoam, or do I need to not have a bowel movement for awhile after using it to make sure it gets absorbed??? thanks.

You want to avoid pooping after administering any kind of rectal meds...that's why I always took it at night just before bed.

The insert that comes with the foam says to try to lay still for 30 minutes at least. Even though it's easier to retain, you still have to be still for a short while so the medicine can be absorbed properly. I personally liked the foam because I didn't have the cramping that is associated with the enemas but I wasn't able to use it because it didn't reach my targeted area.
