Anybody have any information on how wine affects UC? I do love to have a glass every now and again and am just curious.

I have one now and then, no problems. I feel like my tolerance has gone down. don't know if that's imuran or just the fact that I don't drink much anymore. I specifically asked my GI this same question. he said not a problem as long as you don't do it too often (our livers work harder than other people's because of our meds). enjoy a glass!

I make my own wine...red, white, rosé from kits and from fruits and berries...they don't seem to affect my UC as long as I don't overdo it !  ...and I have a glass almost daily !  If I happen to have more than my share on a particular day...yes the next day, it increases my symptoms quite a bit !

I personally can't drink wine anymore. I love red wine but even one glass will give me a migraine but if I have 2 then it affects my Uc. White wine is not so bad, it doesn't give me headaches but it still affects my Uc.

But if you have a glass every now and then and it doesn't bother your Uc, then I say go for it. :) It's when you drink excessively or you notice it bothering your Uc is when you have to step away from the wine.
