So, I feel like I'm in remission now after flaring for the past 6 months on and off. I just finished with my Colocort prescription and am now back on the Rowasa enemas, on top of my normal medication regimine. But I'm still having about 3-4 BM's per day, usually in the morning. My question to all of you is: how many BM's do you consider normal when you are in remission? I don't have any other symptoms besides this and all of my BM's are normal and well-formed and free of blood (sorry to be TMI). But it still sort of bothers me that I have to go this much. In my pre-UC days, it was usually once a day, but I don't ever expect to go back to that.

Please feel free to share your expereinces. And I LOVE that we can talk about topics such as this without having to feel self conscious about what others might think. That's why I love this forum!

I usually only have one or two a day when in remission. But if you are blood and D free, YAY!

I think I go every other day. That's how it was before UC too. If I'm stressed or worried its more.

IMHO, there's a difference between three times spaced out during the day - particularly after meals that kinda get the bowels moving. Three or four times in the morning before you can get out the door or get your day started good doesn't count as being in remission in my mind. Neither does regular use of enemas.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Therapeutic dose sulfasalazine.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and Mucosaheal. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal.

9 Colazal a day (was on 12 Asacol/day, but suddenly got sick from it)
150mg Imuran/day (steroid dependent, reached this dose 9/07)
Various vitamins, bit of fish oil, a probiotic.
