tell your gf to get the book entitled breaking the vicious cycle or check out pecanbread.com. i have been on the specific carbohydrate diet, and am doing well.  done to two bm a day, and less pain than 4 weeks ago.  i was on high dosage of prednisone for 3 weeks and it wasn't affecting my colitis.  i am down to 7.5 mg and doing well esp on this diet.  it isn't an easy diet to follow but it is well worth it.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THE SCD DIET?  IT HAS PUT ME IN REMISSION AND I PLAN ON GETTING OFF THE ASACOL SOON TOO!

Well unfortunately the SCD diet does not work for all. I followed it and was very strict, and found no improvement in my case. I do miss the pecan bread, though, it was great. I am glad that you are having success and wish you continued good health.

Hey, Blueclassring, a member named Tetytha asked on the forum a couple months ago if there were members in the sciences to question here. I thought of you, but couldn't exactly remember your moniker. In case you want to look up this person ... / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... etc.])
