anyone take bentyl?

what's your experiences?
UC diagnosed January 05

Past Meds: Azasan (Imuran) - piercing chest pains after six days so tried different brand aka Azathioprine - morning nausea /didn't really help after more than 6 months, canasa (tried but got worse at the time - connected or not laying off for now)
Current meds: Asacol 2 - 3x, Aciphex (acid reflux), Remicade - 6 treatments, prednisone boo 10mg now tapering, multivitamin, caltrate 2x a day. probiotic (florasmart right now), astelin (nasal spray) as needed, allergy shots, fosamax

i don't take bentyl but have taken hyoscyamine which is also an antispasmodic.

look out for urinary retention, blurred vision, and dry mouth as side effects. i suspect this drug is what we call an anticholinergic(much like benadryl)

I was on it for 6 months and it didn't really do much for me, but I was very very sick at the time

I've used it (called Bentylol in Canada) for 19 years...it works great for me. It does "relax" my eyes a bit more than I like, but that's it.

I started on 10mg for many, many years....and 3years ago upped it to 20mg.

What's the dosage your doc put you on?

*Heather*Status: mini flare Dec 28... tapered to every 3rd night
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~5ASA: Asacol (6 daily) + Salofalk enemas (increase for flares tapered to maintenance)
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed
~vitamins/minerals/supplements 
~Probiotic 3(Natural Factors Protec) bedtime + 1 (Primadophilus Reuteri) occasionally
~multi-digestive enzymes as needed ....bromelain 1 - 2x daily
~Ranitidine,Pariet (reflux) Effexor XR 75mg;  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

I was on it for a little while. Didn't think it did much of anything.

Diagnosed with UC: March 2004 with probable IBS component

Currently taking:
Asacol 4pills 3x/day
Prograf 5mg/day
(Prograf is my miracle drug! It doesn't seem to be well known, but it's fantastic!)

Previously Tried:
Prednisone (works, but such awful side effects!), 6-MP (gave me acute pancreatitis), Entocort, Cipro (antibiotic), Bentyl, Canasa suppositories, a couple different enemas

My doc just put me on it. It hasn't done anything. I also took hyoscyamine with no results.

Left sided UC diagnosed 1/98 age 19, Pan colitis diagnosed 1/07
Currently on 4x3 Asacol, 15 mg pred, down to 10 mg 1/11/08...down to 10/5...
75mg Imuran starting 8/23/07---bumped to 100mg 10/8/07--bumped to 125 11/14/07...
Taken off of Imuran temporarily 1/11/08-back on 1/16/08
Prontonix once daily for acid reflux, zofran twice daily for nausea

i think the scribble says 10 mg but he said something about i can take it as much as 4 times a day

I tried it once when I was really sick and I don't think it did anything for me, but maybe if I hadn't been that sick at the time it would have helped. I wasn't on any other meds yet then either.
