Most of the time I think my husband understands but then he'll say something that makes me so mad. When i am wiped out he'll blame it on me being depressed (because of this year long flare) and I'll have to say No. Becuase I have UC and it takes a lot out of me. He placates me. I know he still doesn't understand. I think if you don't have a chronic illness there is no way to understand what we go through. I lovemy husband and i know he tries but he will never undersatnd, and I hope he never has too. But that's why we are here for each other.

My husband understands, but he still gets frustrated sometimes when he wants to go run around and I just want to rest.

he just thinks I am going to be ok, he is supportive but also has kind of a denial thing. His mother was a full blown alcoholic and passed away because of that, he and his family just never thought it was as bad as it was, well no one did, myself included. So what I am trying to say is that he just kind of thinks everything will just be ok.........well I know life is not like that. He makes me strong but at the same time, today I need him I am crying my eyes out (on 40mg of pred and 200mg of aza and just had blood in my bm today) and terrifed and I need him to understand that maybe it wont just all blow over, maybe it wont be ok, maybe we'll have to deal with stuff we don't want to.

also my mother has a mental illness and when I went through that, my husband simply could not give me what I needed b/c he just did not understand what I was going through. I went to therapy about 10 times, it really helped me sort everything out and be able to handle it, and it was just about me.

I am considering going again and probably will, I just need to do it, I know I need help sorting out my feelings and everything, I know I need to be ok and feel lately like I am just putting on a front.

The thing with him that does help and he has told me, is I need to let him know what is going on, sometimes I try to deal w/it all on my own and I usually end up trying to pick a fight with him.
