Does anyone else have these??? I've always wondered what it is and I know I've seen it listed as a symptom of having an immune disorder, but I just wonder if I'm alone here...

I get these small red dots, that last for months and then one day I'll look and it will be gone. Right now there is one between two knuckles on my left hand, one above my lip, and one on my cheek. They don't look like pimples... more like red freckles or blood blisters. They don't hurt and when I press on them they go away for a second. But the one on my cheek seems to have been there for a year and I had one on my thumb that I couldn't ever remember NOT having (I thought it was a birth mark!), and now it's just gone.

I wish I had a camera on me to show what I mean, hopefully someone knows!

I know what you mean and in fact I asked about them (on here) not too long ago. I believe they are called angiomas. I was planning on asking my GI about that when I see him next because since I started 6mp, I've been getting more of them and the ones that I did have are getting bigger. But I know what you're talking about :)

I have about a dozen of these - some have been around for years (since my UC dx). I keep forgetting to ask my doc about them.

One of these days I'm going to connect the dots with a Sharpie!

I have those, too!  I really had no idea they were related--was thinking it was the beginning of the rosecea.   Anyone have the article or other links to look up?  Thanks!

i get these too, but i personally think they are an allergic reaction to something.
Pharmacy Student, Class of 2009.  Diagnosed 8/99.  Suffered for almost 10 years.  I am currently on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and am nearing remission.  I feel fantastic!    I have lost so many years to this disease.  I decided to become a pharmacist to understand these drugs, and to help fellow sufferers of IBD.  My goal is to open up a pharmacy and take care of my patients(particularly explaining what the drugs do to you), compound special medications, and have a great practice. HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THE SCD DIET? IT HAS PUT ME IN REMISSION AND I PLAN ON GETTING OFF THE ASACOL SOON TOO!
Meds 3200 mg Asacol, 2.5 mg Prednisone

I don't have those but I had something similar to it...spider angioma. It was pre UC though. After a year of having it I picked at it and it bled out and healed.

Thanks Sam for bringing up spider angiomas - it reminded me that I had one at the corner of my right eye for YEARS. Then it just went away... Probably was another precursor for auto-immune... I seem to have had a few of those...

Hmm, I looked up pictures of angiomas but the ones that came up looked nothing like what I have, mine aren't raised at all and are very small... I did some researching on Wedmd ... it sounds like Petechiae, but the description doesn't fit entirely, as mine do turn white when I press on them:

"Petechiae spots range from pinpoint-size to BB-size and do not itch or cause pain. They are different than tiny, flat red spots or birthmarks (hemangiomas) that are present all the time. Petechiae do not turn white when a person presses on them."

Weird.

Oh my gosh... I have these! I developed two of them while I was pregnant and just chalked it up to the pregnancy. Apparently, I could have been wrong about that. I have a follow-up appointment with my GI in March and am going to ask him about them then.

I've got those spots too!  I never thought to connect them to UC.  I've got a couple on my belly and face.
