Hey you all, I'm in a flair right now and need a pick me up. Is there anything that you all would recommend outside the normal spectrum of Caffeine...If there are any drinks out there that you think could help please list them. I need help writing a paper and of course I'm in a flair and I need a boost. Help please!!!

If you're near a blender, you could make yourself a fruit smoothie with banana & soy milk, a little wheat germ, etc. (or lactose-free milk if you're not otherwise intolerant of dairy) Or try Vita Soy or EdenSoy Extra, which come in plain, vanilla, or chocolate flavors. There is also ZenSoy cappuccino that has a bit of zing to it from organic coffee. Good luck with the paper! / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Hey, some vitamin water has helped me in the past; or maybe even a V-8? Good luck with the paper!

I have been drinking Crystal Light. Its those little packets that you mix into a bottle of water. They have all different kinds. But the one that I like the best is the Strawberry that has caffine in it... And its only like 5 calories too!

Wow...many of the energy drinks that claim to be low calories are very high in artificial sweeteners...lots of them!

So, please be aware that they can cause discomfort and other side effects that can affect other body parts.

Please read the labels.

I pretty much just drink water and coffee...so, not much help in the suggestion department.

By the way (just my anal tendencies...it's flare...not flair).

Hi

i havnt heard this product mentioned on here so far , but my GI gave me a suggestion of drinking something from Nestle called Modulen IBD , it is designed for crohns rather than UC , but might be worth a look. I have to get a prescription for this , not sure it is available without one

comes in a big tin like slimfast but bigger , 6 scoops with 200ml of water twice a day
it mixes up really easy and doesnt make me feel bloated or give any problems

it isnt heavy on energy or calories but must be far better than the standard energy drinks

good luck , be interested to know if anyone else uses it

Hi..I haven't tried Modulen IBD, but it's been mentioned on here in the past. It would, however, be mentioned much more on the CD forum.

I would think it's termed a meal replacement supplment...seems better than any energy drink..
