I have been diagnosed as being anemic.  I guess over the past couple of years it's been getting worse and worse until the symptoms have become more than I can ignore.  The hemotologist that I've been seeing had a bone marrow biopsy done to confirm everything and found that I have little or no iron in my marrow.  Anyway...long story short, do any of you take iron supplements and if so, what kind?  I have trouble with chronic constipation so I know that I will need to take that into consideration.  I have a colonoscopy scheduled for this coming Tuesday to check out what is causing my current flare and intend to discuss the matter with my doctor at that time.

Any suggestions will be helpful and appreciated.  Thanks for always being there for me.

I use Slow FE. It's an over the counter iron supplement that you can pick up at virtually any pharmacy. It is very easy on the stomach.

Did the hemotologist discuss an iron infusion with you at all?

Yes, they talked about infusion.  They prefer to try to oral medication first due to possible side effects with the infusion.

Thanks for your reply and congrats on that new baby!!!!!
