sorry guys dont mean to be morbid, but i have been reading alot bout uc as i aint really clued up just yet on this, there is so much to take in. I keep reading that after years of uc b/cancer is a high risk. Can anybody tell me what the percentage is, if there is one? It has freaked me out.

Personally, I think we're more likely to have any problems found early and taken care of since we're seeing our GIs so often and getting looked at frequently.

I have to agree with Meesh. There is a slight increase in UCers risk of colon cancer - however, we're more likely to have regular c-scopes to check for such things. So, if by chance a UCer would develop colon cancer, it would be caught early, which is easier to treat.

I suggest a frank discussion with your GI if you are still feeling concerned.
