Hi everyone

Is there anybody here who use both remicade and enemas/supps at the same time?
Or used to use them together?  Did you find you needed to use both to get into remission?

Thanks

Never been on remicade, but would definitely suggest the enemas...you'll still have some flares while on remicade I would think....at least maybe some low level rectal inflammation. If that's all you get and they can be treated/maintained...you're set from my perspective.

Maybe eventually you won't have to be on Remi.

Is your UC throughout?

I would suggest 5ASA enemas...Rowasa or if you're not in the US..Salofalk.

Yes.  I needed both (or actually all 3 - remi, canasa and rowasa!) to get into remission.  I have been in a sustained remission for a little over 2 years now due to the Remicade.  Had a blip in the road about a month ago with some blood in the toilet bowl one day - no other symptoms - started up the Canasas again at 2x a day.  Didn't see blood again and have just tapered down to 1 every other day.

Are you starting Remicade?  You sig says you are in the Abatacept trial.

Quincy: My UC is left-sided at the moment.

Thanks KTM, I had a feeling that would be the case.  I was on Remicade a long time ago but it quickly stopped working. I am now on the Abatacept trial, which I think could be improved. I will start a new thread on that.

Take care
