I have only had one diagnosed ulcer. They found it when I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy a few years ago. Anyway I have having bouts of pain lately. If you go in between your breasts and then about halfway to the belly button in a straight line is where the pain is. Hope that makes some sense! Anyway I'm already on Nexium so I'm not sure what the next step would be. Anyone run into this? Tomorrow I actually see my GI for a regular appt. so it is good timing.

Hi everyone, hope u r feeling good. I was diagnosed in Aug. 07 with Ulcerative Colitis. Had been told by family Dr. I had hemroids for about 1 and a half yrs before diagnosis. I do not blame her since it was my fault, I just did not go to Dr as often as I should have. So I have several ulcers, Gerd and constipattion, bad, without Miralax every day. I went to my GI Dr, that I now have for a 3 month check up last week and she cut my meds a great deal, 3 Colazal and Canasa as needed. My question is I have  bad lower back pain and she said it has nothing to do with the Colitis. My Family Dr. thought it was, but she has done x-rays and has reassured me I have the spine and back of a 25 year old and that all I have is muscle problems. No Arthritis either. Which she put me on Percocet and Flexeril for. Does anyone else have back pain? Sorry this is so long but this is my first time here and I guess I need to find out as much as I can about this since she said its for life.   Good luck Everyone.

My back hurts when I flare also. I have some pain in my stomach area but I can normally ignore it but my lower back hurts so bad when I flare. I have thought it was a kidney infection several times and went to urgent care. Anyway my doctor says it is referral pain from my colon which means it is still my colon it just refers to my back.

Was the ulcer in your stomach or colon? I'm confused lol If it's in the stomach then it seems you should be on something stronger. It's a good thing you are seeing your GI so be sure to bring that up. If you were to take Tums or Mylanta, would/does that make it feel better?

Ha ha! Stomach by the way. I haven't tried Tums. I was addicted to them when I was pregnant! I'll give them a try.
