Hi There,

When I was first sick, and then again when I was first put on the Salofalk I would often get dizzy spells.
I think the first was due to me being slightly anemic, and the second was because of the drugs.
I didn't have that before getting my first flare, so for me it was UC related.

Hope this eases some of your worries...

I find I am VERY dizzy in the mornings but only since I started taking Entocort. It usually wears off during the day. As for the stomach sickness, I take Zantac or eat vanilla ice cream to combat that!!

I get dizzy/lightheaded and sometimes even nauseous when I'm in a flare, especially when I have so many BM's in a row. I usually just have to lie down and maybe drink a little bit of water. I'm not sure what else to do.

I get dizzy a lot, especially in the summer. It happens a lot when I stand up after sitting down for a while. I can't remember if I got dizzy when I was flaring really badly. I was so weak that I probably was. I think I got light-headed a lot after first getting on meds (Asacol), but that went away after a few weeks.

I had a severe dizzy, nauseous episode last night. The room was spinning and I had cramps and was burping a lot. In a light flare, it that what cause the dizziness?

Dizziness/light-headedness can be caused by dehydration which IBDers are prone to.

I was definitely not dehydrated that night, I thought it may be a reaction to wheat. It was the second time in the last year I had a scary episode like that. I wondered if it was the UC acting up.

I am not sure what causes it. I get very dizzy sometimes. I always blamed it on the Remicade but since I no longer am taking Remicade, I have had a few bad dizzy spells still and I told my GI. I had just taken a test for anemia and it was fine, so he said it may be my horomones? But I haven't been able to figure out if there is a reason besides just UC. If you figure it out, please tell me.
