Stopped Colozal 10/1/07 was on it for 7 weeks, side effects
On Standard Process supplements, trying a new protocal from a
natural path as of 9/10/07

I did the vitamin E enema after my doctor recommended me to remove my colon after no medications seemed to help me and my bleeding could not stop. My bleeding stopped within 2 days and my stool formation was reasonably formed though not completely normal.

I don't take drugs anymore and I stay in remission by taking a daily dose of a mixture of Selenium and Vitamin E orally.

Once a month I do a lemon juice fast to help me restore my energy levels. See link below for lemon juice fast details

I started it last night. This morning I had lots of mucus, but my stools were the best they have been in a long time. I wasn't hanging out in the bathroom for a hour either today. I'm not on any medication. I'm doing the diet and doing the enemas, this is my last effort before I think about asacol again, which I dread.

Mudua what is remission for you? No urgency, you can go for walks with confindence of not needing a bathroom? This is remission for me. I can walk on the treadmill now for an hour straight w/out going to the bathroom. Maybe I'm better b/c I know the bathroom is not far away, but being outside I'm a little nervous.

Hello therearemiracles

I have at most 2 bowels movements a day without an urgency. My stools are formed though not completely normal. My energy levels are now much higher. My doctor tells me that I am in remission. Try the lemon fast and you will be amazed with the energy you will have.

I have great energy. I walk a hour on most days at 4+ mph on a incline of 4 so I'm working it hard. I'm doing good actually, but not perfect. I do see blood and sometimes it's not every day. No urgency really to speak of. I'm going to keep at the vitamin E enemas and the high veggie diet and see how I do. Thank you.

Yestereday morning was rough, I couldn't stop pooping. Hardly any blood so i wasn't too upset, but in the morning I just kept going and going. Maybe I over did myself with veggies the day before BUT.............now I'm third night on enemas. This morning stool better than it has been in a VERY long time, formed with some blood, creamy color mucuas. My rectum does not feel inflamed and I can always tell b/c when I sit down it doesn't feel like I'm sitting on a baseball. In and right out of the bathroom, not a hour of running back and forth. I'm eating veggies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast today is scrambled eggs (2) plain, broccoli, carrots, asaragus, califlower warm and they were steamed. I've added 1 cup of  plain lowfat yogurt and a shot of keifer to my daily routine, which I never had in the past. I walked yesterday for a 45 mins outside in the sun, very relaxing and I was very relaxed. So far so good and I'm pleased right now, I will continue :-) thank you Sheldon for sharing your information. I will keep posting. Linda

Well last night was the 5th night on Vitamin E Enemas and I happen to switch Vit. E to Purtian Pride which arrived yesterday. This morning lots of mucus but that was it no stool! No urgency. No feeling like a shart is coming on. For 3 years I've been going poo for a least a hour + straight in the morning, diarreah, unformed, BAD stomach spasms, leg cramps, shakey nerves and today no poo. I've never ever been constipated, so I think my poo is just forming up. I can't say for sure, but this break is soooo good b/c I have a hemmi that I think may have a tear in it, I don't know but it kills like heck when I go to the bathroom or stand or sit for too long. I put vitamin E on that too. I'm in awe right now that I don't feel like I have to go to the bathroom and I just pray when I do, it's solid and it's over in 1 minute. I will keep you posted. You can get hemmis from not being constipated but going diarreah too much with uncontrollable stomach spasms. My life has been like this and this is the best way to describe it...you know when you throw up you can't control it you just upchuck over and over? Now think of my butt doing that. That's what it does. When I tell people this they die laughing and they say "it just sounds so funny" funny to you, but it hurts like HE double toothpicks!

I'm eating veggies like they are going out of style!  I eat chicken, fish and all the veggies you can think of. I'm not having bad gas either.

Thanks for listening. I was scared at first to do this, but I said look at the meds I put up the poop shute, which is worse???

Hola Sheldon,

I didn't go to the bathroom yesterday all day! Finally some relief. Today I went, no urgency just a little cramping just to let me know I will be going soon. There was rush to get to the bathroom.

I really do believe the Vitamin E is working, there's no doubt b/c before it I was bleeding and running to the bathroom first thing in the morning. I will keep you posted. Today was parsnips, yellow squash, carrots and beets with chicken for lunch. Breakfast two hard boiled eggs. I think because I feel so good, I'm scared to try anything else and that's fine with me. If it ain't broken.....

Thanks Sheldon.

I look forward to putting this in at night, how freaky is that?? It's like...what's tomorrow going to bring something better and better.

Sheldon I do notice if I have any surgar of any type i.e. pasta, bread or cake let's just say I bloat up two hours after eating. Is it b/c those with UC have a lot of yeast issues do you think and sugar just makes it worse? When I use to read on the Yeast Connection website, yeast had a lot to do with bowl trouble. If I stay away from sugar I'm near normal. I can't image living with out cookies or cake for the rest of my life. What's your opinion on this?

therearemiracles:

have you considered that there might be a trigger food making you go more times than others. almonds do this to me. i'll have 1-2 bms one day, eat almonds that day, and then go until my bowels feel empty and i have no energy the next day. usually, i can eat tons of steamed veggies with butter (i even eat brussel sprouts), and when things start to get more normal, i eat raw vegetables in the form of salads with no problem. i also make sure to have tons of protein in the form of meats and eggs. i'm trying the maker's diet, but i seem to be stuck in the first phase, i do add 2nd or 3rd phase foods, then stress or whatever will trigger mucous and blood, i go back to the basics and the symptoms go away pretty quickly.

Good luck. I can relate to not wanting to be on meds. I've been on remicade and prednisone, but am only on asacol now. i hope to be off when things stablize. Bob59 recently posted about his improvements using SCD.

Hi Sheldon,
Yesterday and today have been the best days so far. Each day has been continued improvements. This morning, no rush to the bathroom, formed stool, no stomach spams at all. Yesterday I caved in to a 1/2 of a twelve inch pizza too, I fell off the wagon I know, but I'm again back on today.

I go see a hemmroid doctor Weds and if I can get this fixed, I'll tell you what....I'm looking forward to a awesome summer that I haven't experienced in three years! Going to Cabo next month and going without fear! There's bike rides I want to take, rollerblading, running, dinner trips, walks with friends, camping, backyard BBQ's, fireworks, you name it I want to do.

This truly is working.

Thank You
