It's funny how the post I put about feeling guilty just resurfaced and now I am posting this.  This weekend I drank too many margaritas and I was already in a small flare-up... Now I am having burning D and I was having cramps so intense I was literally lying on the floor in a ball crying.  So, I was thinking of calling my GI and asking him to call in Flagyl for me, it usually helps me out in an emergency like this... but would it be ok to take Flagyl after drinking?  I am feeling like such an idiot right now.  I don't know why I do this to myself...

i have taken it as soon as the day after drinking.
Diagnosed in 1999, hospitalized once.  Not responsive to meds.  Currently on 12 Asacol, , 8 ampules of Gastrocrom, 6 grams Colestid, flagyl, remicade for my UC.  Also have migraines and take B-4, B-2, for the prevention of them.
Deciding whether or not to have surgery at this time.

don't feel like an idiot or beat yourself up. yuo probably drank too much because you were with people who don't have UC, an djust were hanging out and having a good time and being a normal person. I think it is natural to get sick of the discipline required with UC. I think that happens to a lot of us. I recently ate so much chocolate cake I spent 3 hours praying to the porcelain god. but you know, I just needed to say screw it to UC for a night. I won't go that far again, but I definitely still eat some chocolate cake.

feel better soon, but don't be angry with yourself. you're human. it happens.

You're not an idiot, and no reason to feel guilty. We all decide the price is worth the pleasure sometimes. It's one of the few things we have control over!
