I picked up the pred and cortifoam on Friday.  I only worked two hours and that was a stretch for me.  Although we did decide on Sushi for lunch and it was delish!

I went home took the pred, administered the cortifoam and took a LONG nap.  Saturday I did a lot of resting and ran a few quick errands.  The pred (or maybe the combination of darvocet, bentyl, and pred) had me feeling less miserable than the two days past.

Sunday the 'roid rage started.  I didn't expect the mood swings to start in so quickly :(  I warned hubby that I was mad at the world for no reason.  He did his best to "pick" at me (typical teasing we do) and deserved the outburst he got.  Which then lead to tears on my end.  I think he's had his refresher course in 'roid rage - hahaha.

Insomnia last night.

I have been able to retain the Rowasa for two nights now - thats an improvement over the 20-25 minutes last week.

I'm still nervous about tapering.  But I have a few more days before that hurdle.

glad that you are doing better, it is so scary going through all this.

my husband did the exact same thing, I was like I just got through telling you and then he pushes my buttons. I am feeling better on 25mg of pred.

I think our bodies just get the surge b/c we are not tapering up, we just get a massive dose of pred, but I guess that's what we need.

Yes, the pred tapering... Haven't had such good luck with it in the past. However, I haven't had the knowledge I now have! (such as - use rowasa in combination, taper slowly, stablize before tapering, etc.)

The gas is driving me crazy... Might have to dig out that gas-x/phazyme...

Hi Dakota and thank you for your help over the past week. I am so sorry to hear you are feeling bad. I hope your meds will help and put you in remission. I am still learning about this UC stuff so I don't think I have been in remission. But I sure wish you the best and hope you feel well real soon. And keep helping me with the excellent advice and all others that need you and it. May God Smile on us all and let the world feel better.

Today has been super uncomfortable :( It started at 3:30 this morning with what I thought were gas pains in the upper right quadrant (urq). So, I expelled the Rowasa thinking that was my issue. A couple more hours of sleep and the pain was still there. In a twisted attack of loyalty/guilt I decided I'd still go to work. ha! Bad idea - should have stayed in bed. Was super nauseated, couldn't get the pred down. Snowballed into very crampy bloody bms and a couple of mucous plugs - yeaouch. Felt like my bum was tearing! The burning after each bm was extreme - and the lousy TP at work doesn't help! Finally went back home, took the pred and a nap so the nausea wouldn't get me any worse.

Baked chicken - with teriyaki sauce - and rice for supper. Now I'm just hoping to make it through the night. I have a couple of large deadlines at work, but am pretty worthless while in pain. Guess I should sit down with the boss and let him know what's up...

Not sure if it's the 'roid rage or what, but I'm pissed at the world for this happening...

Crabby girl out.

Oh Yuck Dawn.....I'm sending hugs and prayers your way. You were so helpful to me when I was at my wits end and trying to sort this stuff out and try to get some kind of understanding which was about a year ago now.

I was talking to hubby about you last night and he feels bad too and also sends thoughts your way. (I relay alot of the info to him from the forum which has really helped over this past year in his understanding and dealing with this inconsistent and unpredictable illness. Things could be better but they could be a great deal worse too. So we'll take what we got at the moment.)

We are all connected by this forum via the internet and our strokes on the keyboard but also in our hearts. It's odd how we can not know each other on a personal level but actually do connect in a personal way to try to help each other. I don't think there could be a better support network than here for our UC.
