Since about the time my UC first got triggered I've noticed that I get a lot of mucus in the back of my throat, especially at night when I'm trying to get to sleep. Could this in any way be related to my UC?

Not sure, but it's worth mentioning to your doc.

Any allergies that could be causing it?

Are you a smoker, smokers tend to have a tendancy to get alot of phelgm, which is basically mucus from the lungs or throat and I don't think phelgm really has any connection specifically to IBD in general.

I'm curious about that too. I'm not sure if it's post nasal drip or what! I went to an allergy clinic and had all the tests and apparently I'm not allergic to anything. He gave me this foul nosespray to use. The nasty taste lasts longer than the effect does.

I have a ton of snot back there ALL THE TIME. It is the same whether I am lying down or sitting up. It doesn't seem to be better or worse through out the day. It sorta stays the same. I don't have a sinus infection, it's not allergies and it isn't a cold. I have had it for years but it does seem to have gotten worse since I was dx'd with UC.

I don't smoke, drink or do anything else either. And I drink PLENTY of water.

Yes, I've had the same problem since being diagnosed and also wondered if there was a connection.
