Hi  I have suffered with proctitis 20cm for 7 years now. I fell pregnant May 2006 and suffered no symptoms of Proctitis until now one year after giving birth. I am gutted having been free for so long. I feel really down I have been bleeding for 6 weeks with no pain or D but now I am on the loo every half hour. This is most inconvenient with a one year old. I want to go out walking but dare not and when I go anywhere am always looking for the nearest loo. I have started on the foam enema's but have trouble keeping them in. Any advice?

Hi...welcome to the forum.

Do you use the enemas at night or during the day?

You really should be on an oral med to make sure above your rectum is protected from UC spreading. I would suggest Asacol.

You did wait a bit too long before going on meds...it will take a while before the inflammation calms down in the rectum.

Curious....are you eating OK?
Did you recently start your period?

Welcome again.
