Hi folks, I'm a new member who is lucky enough to be joining during a remission.  I found this site while looking for information about probiotics and have been overwhelmed and inspired by what I found here.  I remember when I was first diagnosed in late 2001 and thinking that my life was over and I wish there had been something like this site then.  (Heck, if my fiance can have a website to get info and support about tablecloth patterns it only seems fair that I should be able to get information and support about my health condition. LOL)
While my doctor has told me that my UC is a "mild case", I find that it reacts in many of the same ways when flaring as the cases written about here, but most of the time with less severe symptoms.  However, for the times when I have felt totally out of it when flaring I am thoroughly inspired by all of you and the ways you deal with this with children and travel and demanding physical jobs.
Anyhow, I look forward to learning and sharing experiences with all of you.
