I have the opportunity to join 1 of the humira clinical trials. As I understand it, I could be receiving the placebo for 8 weeks.

I understand that remicade is a 8-10 hour commitment per infusion plus commute time which s another 2+ hours. I would much prefer the ease of self-injection.

Do you think I should take the risk that I am on the placebo or opt for certainty and the time commitment.

Another question, is it possible to switch to humira after remicade?

My remicade infusions only last about 2.5 hours and it's actually very relaxing. and it's only every 6-8 weeks were Humira is much more often.

As for risk of getting a's about 50/50 so that would depend on you. If you think you need to get better faster than remicade may be a better option but if you are at a point were you could go another 8 weeks possibly without medication than it may be worth it if you prefer self injection.

8-10 hours? I don't think that is right. Mine takes 2-2.5 hours, but I'm only 170 pounds, so maybe it takes me less time than most people. If you are in a flare, I would go for the sure thing remicade, but if you want to try the humira, I would make sure to take all my other meds in case of the placebo.
