UCinNC, I think it has gotten worse over time, but when I was dx'd I was just 15 so I don't remember so well. Some days I feel so nauseous and uninterested in food.

When I am flaring, I just don't want to eat......period. I have absolutely no appetite nor do I even get hungry. I still make myself eat though because I can't afford to lose weight. This was post Uc and when I'm in remission, you can't KEEP ME AWAY from food! :)

There are a lot of times I don't feel like eating. Sometimes I just forget to eat for 2-3 days at a time. I do this a lot. I just don't like eating anyway, so it never bothers me. My brother says I'm nuts. I told him I don't want to go through the process of cutting my food then chewing it and swallowing it. I just want the food in my tummy without having to do all the work. lol So, yes, I understand what you're going through.

Usually my GERD symptoms are the ones that keep me from eating - or flare symptoms. But usually I LOVE food. Not unusual for me to have less of an appetite some days though - especially if it's a day I haven't done much.

Usually during a bad flare, I have no appetite. I have to force myself to eat. And when I do eat, it's soft foods like crackers, applesauce, and jello; and liquids.

Yes, sometimes I'm not very hungry and other days I eat all day long. Most days I have a normal appetite though. I can't remember if I was like this pre-UC or not.

During a flare I normally loose my appetite, otherwise I always seem to be hungry.

Dx:  UC Proctitis 2006

Meds:  None so far. Garlic works to ease flares. My GI laughed when I told him and said it was just coincidence.

Started Meds:  Apr 9 08 500mg 5ASA (salofalk) to ease flare.

Diet:  Regular fresh garlic, Biobest yogurt daily, Omega 3 supplements, very limited junk food, carbs and processed food, low fat diet.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies (limited potatoes).

Added: tumeric and probiotics.

No, I look forward to eating. Some foods don't agree, and if I'm nauseated, I tend to eat to help the nausea...weird.

If you're not hungry, maybe something else is going on? Could it be stress considering you'll be getting married in October?

I hope this is just fleeting.
