My symptoms were a lump like feeling in my throat, burning stomach, burping, difficulty swallowing, and nausea. Once I started Prilosec, I felt much better.

I would get it while I was pregnant. Mine felt like a burning in my esophagus and it was very uncomfortable, especially when lying down. I took Prilosec - which is over the counter - and it went away pretty quickly.

My symptoms hit me in the middle of the night almost always, and would wake me up and make it very difficult to get back to sleep.  I initially took a medicine called protonix, which is related to nexium and prilosec.  It did help to a degree, but did not relieve all my symptoms, so I kept looking for something natural that would help with the inflammation caused by my GERD.  I got lucky on a trip to Washington DC, and found Haldi drinks in the whole foods markets there, I no longer need protonix, and do not have any issues, these things work wonders with my GI tract from beginning to end.  Again, everyone is different, and what may work for one person does not neccesarily mean it would work for somebody else.  High stress levels can also increase gastric acid secretion, I wonder if that could be affecting you?  Good luck getting rid of it.

I've had heartburn for ever, have always had tums on hand and remember buying tagament in college - but never using it correctly. I was officially dx'd when I was dx'd with my UC. I'd been having awful burning at the back of my throat and the doc did an EDG while I was out for the c-scope.

The GERD board here is a great source of knowledge.

Many people present with many different symptoms. My SIL presented with only chest pain - right in the sternum area - no heartburn, indigestion, nausea like mine.

Best to ask your doc as well :)
