Sorry if there has been a post about this already but I did a search and couldn't find anything.

I will be attending "IBD Day on the Hill" for the first time in Washington D.C. May 13th through the 15th.  Will anyone else be attending?

If someone has already attended this event before can you tell me what it's like?

Also, any cool places to see or eat in Washington besides the obvious?  Never been there before.

Thanks... :-)

I was there for a wedding recently and we went to a bar called "Buffalo Billiards" the night before. It was fun but a small bathroom for a large place! Also if you want to travel a little Olde Town Virginia is right nearby and also very nice.
26 Year old married female law student.  Diagnosed w/ CD 3 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD.  I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid.  For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn.  I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13.  I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium.  Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I alos take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I think Fitz means Old Town Alexandria. Pick yourself up a copy of the Washingtonian magazine when you get to town, it has loads of restaurant listings as well as what is happening at the various museums. King Street Blues in Old Town is a lot of fun. I've been living just outside of D.C. for about ten years now and still love to play tourist. Don't think I'll ever get jaded about living here -- I still go to see the Cherry Blossoms most years -- although fears of being trapped on the Metro in a big crowd with UC has kept me away from the 4th of July on the Mall since diagnosis :-(

All I know is it was called Old Town lol... I was a weekend tourist :) I missed the cherry blossoms because I partied at Buff. Billiards and since I never drink I felt way too icky the next day to go into town. Oh well.
