Hi everyone, im pretty new to the site. I have had UC for 4yrs now (diagnosed after the birth of my first child).
I really need some help gaining weight. I am 35, 5'7 and weigh just over 90lbs. (i just had a baby 11mo. ago), so i should not have lost this much weight. I did flare right after birth, however, i have been pretty well off as far as my uc goes for quite a few months now.
I just got news that my cousin (two yrs younger than me) was just diagnosed w/ emphysema. My family has a huge family history of breast cancer (had two lumps removed myself in the last 8mo, both benign). I have a immune deficiency, uc, arthritis. Lupus has been suspected also, but not proven.  I am so worried about my health at this point. I have two children and want to get to a healthy weight and be able to start living life w/o feeling so darn tired all the time.
Has anyone taken weight gainers? I am lactose intolerant, so i can't use anything w/ lactose. I plan to start keeping a food journal, and begin mild exercise. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Is anyone looking to gain weight that might need a buddy???
I know this was sorta all over the place, but i basically want weight gain advice. thanks everyone! shannon

Have you considered meeting w/ a nutritionist? They would be able to help you w/ healthy ways to gain weight. I know it is tough keeping up w/ kids and when you have family worries. I lost a lot of weight after my son was born too. Not as much as you but it did take a while to put it back on. I would suggest eating 6 mini meals a day.
