It's crazy but I'm feeling really optimistic! Sure, I was bleeding like crazy this morning but I spoke with my doctor and we have a plan for the near future. Maybe there's a placebo effect just from talking to her and hearing some comforting words, because I am feeling really great tonight. In fact, I can't sleep I'm so revved up. It's such a thrill to have some energy that I have to stay awake and enjoy it for just a little while.

Anyway, I invite anyone who's in the mood to hop on the optimism train. smurf

I don't expect to be miraculously better tomorrow; I'm just aiming for a smidge better every day. Or even every other day. I've healed before so I know it's possible. Sometimes it's helpful to remind myself of that. It's also helpful to remember all the people who have posted here who have attained remission for long stretches of time. It just takes some of us longer to get to that point but I know it's possible.

So for anyone else who needs a little hope, I'm posting some of my extra.

Sounds like one of those "pivotal" moments. I have them too...Monday was one (although not UC-wise)....

Feels good, doesn't it?

It's not crazy....it's a part of accepting I think.

Have a good day...and if it's not all good, revel in what is.

Ha! I could use a little hope this morning! I'm in a great remission with my Uc but it's the other things that are starting to get to me. So, I will gladly take your ray of sunshine :)

I'm glad you're feeling optimistic! I could use some optimism. I'm in a flare and I'm feeling pretty crappy overall.

Glad you're feeling so well.  You're lucky your doctor is so positive.  Mine threatens surgery every time I have a symptom.

It looks like we have the same issues w/most drugs not working for us.  None of the ASA's or other typical meds have ever worked for me and have always made me worse.

I'm doing pretty well these days too, I'm still having some bleeding every day but I feel great and am feeling pretty "normal" these days!!

I'll take some of that optimism! Today is my last day of Flagyl - and I'm hoping that in a couple more days I'll notice those side effects are gone - and THAT'S something for me to be happy about :)

I hope you're still feeling so positive this morning!

I always find it funny how a good bowel day totally changes my mood and outlook. When in a flare, I am desperate and take little joy in anything. A few painless and more or less normal D-free and blood-free days and I am a radically different person. I guess my optimism comes from remission!

Thanks, everyone! I'm still feeling well and it's been nearly a whole day. Whoo-hoo! A no-blood day is good.

I also had a funny moment today when I realized how lucky I am to have so many bathrooms at work. I remember at my last job finding too many people in the ladies room and having to race upstairs and barely making it! Anyway, I just got so lucky at this new job that there are bathrooms galore. :)

I think the spring flowers are definitely helping with my rosy outlook. I hope everyone else from the colder climates is finding that the effects of spring are helping. It's nice to be able to take a walk in the evening.

congrats and thanks for sharing the good vibes! I've noticed that too, when I'm having happy guts, other things fall into place. I finally got back to the gym today - I've been afraid to run for a while after some "unpleasant events" in the recent past (pre-diagnosis) and have been in a good amount of pain almost daily (still working that part out). But today I went for a run anyway, and it rocked! I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and it rocks! I would've laughed at anyone yesterday who said I could run a mile without dropping... but I did it! Actually 1.75 miles of walking/jogging yeah

The spring weather definitely helps too - this goose couple have decided to build their nest outside my building, and they are so cute the way they take turns sleeping and guarding each other. Can't wait for the eggs to hatch!

I'll hop on board the optimism train. My flare has lingered for way too long, and I keep expecting it to go into remission, but it wont. It's been frustrating, but I seem to find new ways to find hope.
