Hi, guys, i'm new to this forum so i thought i would post my news so far. i was diagnosed with uc two and a half years ago, just as my second daughter was born. i've had all the meds you can think of, i've been allergic to a few too! i'm now having remicade infusions i'm on my second, i feel ok but the activity in my bowels is still really bad. not ''going'' as often, but am not in flare at the minute but seem to be suffering with very bad trapped wind and sometimes constipation, which i suppose is a real turn of events! i now get pain with this too. i was hoping to feel a little better than i do, but i can't ask for miracles i guess. i would like to hear from other people in my situation and compare how remicade has worked for you, i only have one infusion left then i'll see consultant to see if he thinks it will be worth carrying on with, i really hope this is the case as i don't know of any other treatments i can use, i really don't want to go down the surgery route, it terrifies the hell out of me! i hope to hear from people soon, thanks mimbot

Hi! This is not going to be very helpful, but I just had my 2nd Remicade treatment Thursday and I haven't seen any improvement either. I am now having a full blown flare up, with blood and frequency of going to the bathroom. I talked to my Dr's nurse today and she talked to him and said I should not be having a flare up on Remicade. That is the whole purpose of it! He's having me do a stool sample to check for C Diff, which he says I probably don't have; just wants to be sure, and to upy cortifoam beacuse I am so inflamed right now I can't retain teh Rowasa longer than a few minutes. I was expecting a miracle with the Remicade too! No such luck. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon, and maybe ask your doctor for rectal meds, if you are not allergic. Sorry this wasn't helpful, just wanted to let you know that you were not alone!

Thanks Cara for your reply, it must be even more frustrating than my situation you poor thing! I've got double trouble today, i've just been for treatment at hospital after having an abnormal cervical smear, i've had laser treatment which wasn't too bad until they produced a huge needle to numb my cervix, very eye watering i can tell you! so as you can imagine i'm not feeling the best, i already had bowel pain before i went for treatment. i've got my third infusion on tues so i'm hoping for some kind of improvement, i'll keep everyone posted as to how it goes, thanks again, miriam (mimbot)
