I've bought it online and also at a pharmacy. On the VSL website you can do a search on what pharmacies in your area carry it. The cost was the same both ways. I'm giving it 8 weeks. I'm almost to week 3 and I am feeling better. It makes me feel good that this product has had a lot of research.
Diagnosed 2/29/08 with Mild Universal UC
I've had UC since 2000 but was in remission for most of those 8 years med free
Lialda Colazal & Asacol made symptoms worse
Not taking any more meds for now. Trying a holistic approach.

it worked alright for me--i began to mix it into pudding and such--very tasty. The only downside was that my body began to require more and more of it--I could feel the UC coming back, and so I upped the VSL dose to accomodate several times. It was a slow process, but after about 5 months I was taking 2-3 packets, 3 times a day. It got pricey.

So, no, in the end it wasnt a life-saver, but it did keep me off all the dangerous meds for about half a year. I was only on colozal at the time.

My son takes now the "Kefir" which has 10 billion bacteria. VSL#3 has 450 billion bacteria, I think I will tell him to start gradually, how did you start taking it? the full dose?
