So today I had my follow up appt, eight weeks after my Colonoscopy.Since doing another course of Pred and switching to Pentasa,I've been symptom free, other than an occasional attack of D,which I didn't consider UC related. So today my GI took a "quick look inside" and I'm still inflamed, although with less severity!

Now I have to go back on Azathioprine,as he says it must be brought back under control.Makes me wonder how often in the past I've had active disease, even though I felt okay?

Just interested in other peoples thoughts on this and if anyone else here has had a similar experience?

That stinks!! The good thing is your doctor caught it early and you are feeling pretty well... sounds like the D is from UC after all.

When I found out I had the 1 inch deep ulcer, I wasn't feeling THAT bad. I couldn't believe I had gotten that bad! (PS-I stopped taking Asacol and stopped seeing my GI right before this happened) Now, I feel worse than I was then, and the ulcer is smaller and the other 1 or 2 ulcers are gone.
Diagnosed with Left-sided UC in 1995 at age 15, Prednisone, Rowasa & Hydrocort. Well Princesscolon,I think your story is similar to mine.I also stopped taking both Azathioprine and then Asacol and I think that's how I went from distal disease to Pancolitis!Sorry you don't feel so good, this disease is completely unfathomable to me.
