Has anyone one missed there period or had problems with there period due to remicade?  My daughter has had four infusions and now she is starting to miss her period.  We have tried to research but cant really find any info. Thanks

I have been on it for almost 4 years. I had one month, I think my first year on it where I did not have a period. Very bizarre, no one could explain...I took a couple of pregnancy tests, and then myob/gyn ordered the blood test. Nope, I wasn't pregnant...didn't think I was, but wanted to be sure before I started my next pack of pills. I haven't missed one since then, though.

Tanna -- welcome to the forum! Is your daughter on any other meds such as Prednisone? Even after I started Remi, I still had a time with my cycle after taking the pred for a while. Just a few months after I got off pred and only on Remi, it finally evened out.

Remicade - will have my 21st infusion on April 17.

I really don't get my period when I am flaring. My GI and OB both say that it's ok. How old is your daughter? Has she been to an OB? If not this would be a good time to take her. Is she on birth control? If yes, maybe a call would be appropriate.

I never had problems with my period while on Remicade for about 3 years.  I don't know how/why Remicade would affect that.  How old is she?

I'm not on Remicade but I have only gotten my period twice in the last 2 1/2 years. I truly think it is the disease and all the meds. I've had ultrasounds of all my girly parts and everything is fine.

I too have missed my period during a flare, though I'm not on Remicade. It's definitely worth discussing with an ob/gyn just for the reassurance that it's nothing to worry about.
UC for the last ten years
Current Meds: 6MP since 2006, Cortifoam
Past Meds: You name it; I've tried it. (Asacol, Colazol, Pentasa, DiPentum, Rowasa, Canasa, Cortenema, sulfasalazine)
5ASA drugs don't work for me. Canasa seems to make me worse.
Alternative treatments I have had success with: Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy
