Anybody taking COQ10? Is this supposed to be of any help to UCers?

diagnosed with uc 27 years ago.  Enojoyed 20 year remission with just minor blips here and there (approximately 16 of those years without any meds)

In a flare for 2 very long years which Asacol didn't help at all.  Finally in remission again since Jan 2008, can't believe it..............

currently on Sulfasalazine 2 tabs 3x day. Folic acid, mesalamine enema 2 x a week. Omega 3, Probiotics, multi vitamin, cacium supplement, Biotin....

Hi...I took it for a while. For some reason I think I was nauseated or had gas or something. Could have been something else going on..but I haven't taken them since anyway.

I would suggest you take a lower dosage and do the homework as to interactions....I read to start at 10mg daily and increase.
Maybe I took too much at first..can't remember the dosage, however.

Thanks quincy, I'll look into it. I have a friend that has Crohn's and she takes it. I asked her why she takes it and she said her Doc said it was a good idea...but she (my friend) wasn't really sure what the benefits were.

There is lots and lots of info on CoQ10.
I found this which is kind of interesting.

I don't think it can hurt you...I did hear one speaker on a radio program say that everyone should take it because it's in every organ of our bodies..or is it cells?  anyway..do the research and the above suggests low dosage start as well.
