6mp fever aches

my daughter started with fever and aches yesterday - she is on her way home right now and i wil have her to the internist, but the gastro is out for the week end- anyone know if could be due to the 6mp?
she is taking it for abouth 4 months.

asacol 2 3x daily-discontinued
colazal 3 3x daily/switched to 4 4x daily
proctofoam 3x daily/1-2xdaily
mesalamine enema 1x daily
canasa suppostiories 3x daily /switched to court supp 1-2x daily
culturelle probiotic 1 daily
chewable vitamin
hydrocortisone enema at bed time 6mp50
xifaxan antibiotic 400mg 2x day

It seems a bit far out from the time she started 6mp to be getting these symptoms.  It just could be a viral infection.

dx proctitis in 1987
dx UC in 1991, was stable until 1998

1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics

2000 lost all my B-12 stores and became anemic

2001 opted for j-pouch surgery- now living life med-free

did yo get any relief from the 6mp before the surgery?

Sounds like she has a bug. I think if she was going to have some type of allergic reaction to the 6mp it would have happened at the beginning.

I agree that if she was to get any reactions, it would of been sooner rather then later. I know that since I started 6mp, I get a virus around the same time each year and I'm guaranteed to get a high fever and chills. Usually I see my doc and she prescribes me an antibiotic just to be on the safe side. Sounds like a bug to me. I hope she feels better soon.

No, 6mp did not work for me, after 1.5 years on it I decided to call it quits.

Azathiaprine took a few months to damage my liver. It didn't happen right away. Its hard to tell. Hopefully a doctor can advise you. Best wishes.
