I have been going through the worst flare up of my life and I am getting my colon taken out in about 10 days. Right now I'm going to the bathroom about 20 times a day. There is a lot of blood and I feel a sore inside my anus that feels like a blister or something. I believe that is what is causing the blood and does anyone know if this is a hemroid, and if that is so, what do I do to treat it? I also am experiencing more gas than I have ever experienced before. I am in so much pain and discomfort right now so if someone can give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

Check out this link on hemmies (it also includes perianal crohns skin tags aka: elephant ears which are related to crohns disease only)...there are pics (of both conditions) and an explanation...

Regardless, you should go see your doc about your issues.

cworyhill..what meds are you taking at this time?

Rectal meds will help your flare and hemmies immensely...and since you can see something going on, an external med such as proctocedyl is awesome.

*Heather*Status: mini flare Dec 28... tapered to every 4th night
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~5ASA: Asacol (6 daily) + Salofalk enemas (increase for flares tapered to maintenance)
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed
~Probiotic 3(Natural Factors Protec) bedtime + 1 (Primadophilus Reuteri) occasionally
~multi-digestive enzymes as needed ....zymactive 3 - 5x daily
~Ranitidine,Pariet (reflux) Effexor XR 75mg;  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

It sounds like it may be an abscess. Getting your colon removed should bring you relief in time. Sorry I can't help more. Hope you get well soon!
