Hey everyone, been suffering with Ulcertive colitis and Proctitis for the last 3 years. No meds are working again... Anyways, I asked my GI doc today if he could order me a comprehensive hair analysis profile and he said he had never ordered one before and doesn't know how to go about it.... That sucked for me! He just has to write the scipt I would think.. then I would take it to quest! Sooo, is there any reliable place to get it done at? Has anyone ever gotten it done before? I wanna check all my vitamins and trace minerals along with heavy metals... I know this is all usually checked for anyways, but I've been having blood, mucus, and no formed stool for a long time. Thanks

My SIL (she doesn't have UC but massive hairloss - cause still unknown) had hers done thru her primary but I imagine a Dermatologist can do that as well.

She had it done through her primary? What lab did she get it done at? Quest Diagnostics doesn't test for vitamins and trace minerals... I just got off the phone with them. They will only check for metals and toxins... thanks!
