Hi everyone, well, i knew this flare was going to land me in the hospital. Luckly, my GI did not admit me when i saw him, he put me back on my 6mp and 40mg pred on last tuesday. I felt better for two days then started feeling bad again.
Then, sat/sun i was real bad, had my "normal" low potassium signs, and had severe nausea/pain, and to many BM's. So, off to the ER. They ran my labs and of course, my potassium was to low, i ended up getting a bag of potassium (IV) and two bags extra fluids, zolfran for the nausea, dilauded (sp) for the belly pain. The on call gi came and went over everything, and since i was feeling better from the potassium and fluids, he let me go home!!!!
today, wed, i am feeling alot better, drinking my effervesent potassium 3x a day and trying to eat well. I am going to stay on the 40mg pred for a second week before we talk about beginning taper. YIKES!!! but it's better than being admitted i guess.
anyways, hope u all are doing fair today! shannon
