This looks promising.  I hope so anyway.

Thanks for posting. Do you know what journal the research will be printed in? This article cuts off at the end for me. It says "The research ... is presented as the cover story in the May 29 issue of the journal" - then it stops.

The journal is Nature. Here's a link to a more detailed article:

UC for the last ten years
Current Meds: 6MP since 2006, Cortifoam
Past Meds: You name it; I've tried it. (Asacol, Colazol, Pentasa, DiPentum, Rowasa, Canasa, Cortenema, sulfasalazine)
5ASA drugs don't work for me. Canasa seems to make me worse.
Alternative treatments I have had success with: Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy

Thanks, julee!

I also found this article on the same topic: http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSN2833873820080528

It's not as detailed as the link julee just posted.

Man I have an appointment for a scope on the 2nd and an appointment with my GI I really want to grill him on some of this stuff. It is frustraiting that there is all this research being done but they are still shoving pills at us saying "Take this, even though it might give you cancer in 10 years!"

Man I'd volunteer to be a human trail for that stuff any day.
