Lambkins, I'm so glad you followed through with your doctor. Unfortunately, some of the "extras" that go along with this disease can be almost worse than the UC.
Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Asacol, Rowasa, Pentasa, Prednisone, Entocort, Azathioprine
Avascular necrosis in both shoulders is my "forever" gift from steroid therapy.
Colazal,  Remicade, Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri. In remission since April, 2006.

Hi Lambkins

I had Uveitis 3 years ago and my doc thinks that this may even have led to UC, I waited a few weeks for a diagnosis and wasn't told how serious it could be.  Even now if I am particularly tired my eye goes a bit pink but if it ever happens again in a big way I would recognise the painand get it sorted promptly.  Thankfully you have got quick treatment which is unpleasant in itself, but do stick with it, even after it appears to have gone you might need to carry on with the drops for a while.
It might even help to wear sunglasses inside, looks a bit silly but really helps with the light sensitivity.
Take care and I hope it gets much better soon! :-)
