has anyone tried ketotifen?  Asacol hasn't worked for my daughter, and I thought with her atopic background (eczema, food allergy) that a mast cell stabilizer might be helpful.

Trying to talk our ped GI into giving it a go before we head into 6-MP land.  I'm scared of 6-MP land...really don't wanna go there with her.  No one can tell me what the long-term toxicity is.

I've done a little research on gastrocrom and ketotifen, and ketotifen seems to be much more effective.  In fact, gastrocrom was usually found to be no different than a placebo.

How about Sulfasalazine? Some people are allergic, some Doc's don't mention this drug. It works well for some and has less side effects than some of the other, stronger meds.

Asacol didn't work for me either.
