How much good bacteria does your intestine lose each day?
The manufacturers of probitoics suggest that a person with a healthy bowel should take 2 million units of good bacteria a day. Does that then mean that a person also loses 2 million units in one day and needs the extra 2 million to supplement?
Med free for a bit as I needed a break from Asacol

I doubt there's a perfect balance...the "numbers" probably fluctuate every minute, practically. I tend to think the numbers the manufacturers are using are purely for marketing purposes. If not, I suppose it'd be easy enough to find out by looking on the internet. Hey, good luck on your med-free lifstyle- I'm not personally a fan of quitting maintenance meds, but to each his own.

diagnosed with UC '02
Asacol- 8 tabs/day
Remicade infusions
Imuran- 100mgs/day
