has anyone seen a naturopath?  (ND).  Are they a waste of money, somewhat helpful, or better than your GI?  What diagnositics or treatment approach did they use?
I've heard of one in Ohio that has supposed to have helped saved someone with CD from getting their colon removed.

I was going to see a naturopath, but didn't. She cost $175 for the initial consult. I cheaped out. Anyway, they have lots of different therapies available, like acupuncture (I've read that helps some people on this forum), diet, homeopathy and traditional chinese medicine. My friend in the next office has a degree in homeopathy, so I tried a homeopathic remedy called Arsenicum Album for 2 days. I'm not sure it helped. She wants me to give it another try. I might, but not until I'm done taking the Rowasa and am sure that didn't help.

Good luck with your decision.

My first natural path on the internet was Dr. Dahlman, what he says is true no gluten or diary. At that time I was bleeding so much blood it was dark purple and freaked me out that I saw a MD. I never went back to Dr. Dahlman.

I then started on a second natural path and was told "he does miracles" however he does no testing, never had me change my diet just switched me from one supplement to another and I've spent at least $3,000 with him.

Now I'm on to a natural path/MD out of Wisconsin and so far he's getting the job done as far as research. I've taken a blood test called Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, stool and urine (although right now my urine is lost in DHL land) so I have to redue that one. The Comprehensive Metobolic Profile is new within the last 10 years and it's supose to be the best blood test. If you're sick or not this is a good one to get. It rearches your DNA or something like that. Google it and read.

On the 17th of June I have my phone consult with the doctor to go over my test results. This Weds I have my food antibodies test results consult, so I should know more about food allergies.

I'm truly excited about this new doctor. He came highly recommened from my friends who's daughter has autism and just like autism and UC they say it's a gut connection with yeast, bacteria and food allergies.

Finally I have a great doctor doing great research to help me. It's been the longest 3 years of my life.
