Can anyone give me the info on Remicade?  My wifes doctor is wanting to start her on that and I have done little research on it.  Seems to be kinda pricy.  I'm sure insurance will cover much of it, but still.  Is it pretty good stuff?  What do y'all know about it?

Remicade has worked well with me.  However, it is very expensive.  Luckily, I have good insurance.  I was allergic to all the other meds and started Remicade.  I now go to the bathroom about 8 times a day and have significantly less pain and no blood in the stool.

Because of my young age and fast metabolism, I receive double the normal dose...I think I get 10 mg/kg...not sure though.  Typically, after an infusion I feel kinda weak like have a cold for a few days.  I can deal with a few days of feeling bad to be relatively healthy for two months.

Everyone's experience with medications is different, but I still highly recommend Remicade.  It's worked well with me.

A word of warning though.  Beware infections like Staph or the flu.  Since I've been on Remicade, I've had both and they've lead to hospital trips because I got so sick.  You just have to remain vigilant and proactive in taking care of your body.

Good luck to you and your wife.

Hi, I too have had good results with remicade, even though i'm only on my third infusion. I do recommend you both do alot of research before your wife starts this treatment as with all meds there can be complications, so be sure you speak with someone properly before you go ahead. Other than a little cramping and trapped wind i've felt fantastic since my third infusion, i really wish you both luck for the future and hope you get what you want from the treatment, as i think everyone deserves a break as finally i got mine after nearly 3 years of hell!
kind regards
