WEll, it was a L-O-N-G couple of months but I finally got in to see my GI today. She is very mad at my family DR for letting me suffer so long with all this pain and cramping.. especially mad that he had taken me off all my meds two weeks ago after experimenting with many meds to no avail. I guess he was only trying to help me out until I could get in to see her...
So, I had all kinds of blood work done to check my iron, B-12 levels and inflammation, etc. She is also scheduling a CT-Scan to check for thickening of my intestine and for a possible abscess. She wants to check that out before trying to do a scope. So once I get that test result back we go from there... in the mean time she has put me back on my Asacol <which kept me in remission for 4 years until this March> and she told me to educate myself on the possibility of surgery since in 2004 I had pancolitis and lots of inflammation in my cecum. :( No major decision making or anything until after I get test results back and a scope tho. I guess she just wants me prepared for the worst... which I kinda am anyways. She is concerned because of the unrelenting pain I have in my right abdomen for the last few months. Sigh... finally someone listened to me !! lol
Anyways, just an update since some of you have been listening to me sob about my pains and being off work, lol. Thanks all.. have a great week. And thank you for the loads of information and stories that kept me sane while waiting for my appointment ! You guys rock !!
