So I've moved from Ga to Texas. It's been a whirlwind. My husband found out he got a job in Fort Worth. Well about a month before that I started having more urgency to go to the bathroom, but right when he figured out we were definitely moving.. I'd say it turned into a full on flare up. So we drove up 12 hours to his gma's house in Texas... I had to stop like every 10 minutes the first hour of the trip and my hubby was getting pissed off! Thankfully his mom had hydrocodone and I took two with me. I took one and it lasted me the rest of the trip.

Then we stayed there a week searching for a place to live. I had to stop during the hunt a million times and my hubby is still just like... oh well. We found an apartment. I left my ID in Ga on accident so I was in hysterics as to how I'd get on a plane home... my hubby found a way, but the 5 min drive there my heart was pounding because i had to go to the bathroom so bad... as soon as she pulled to the airport I got out and dashed for the bathroom and BARELY made it. Then after getting through security took a hydro.

So then we got home and his dad helped us pack our house away into a truck. The next morning I was to ride with my FIL and hubby in that huge truck all the way to Texas AGAIN. I was having problems for 13 hours stuck in a freakin bumpy truck and I was just miserable.. at this point I have blood in my stool.

We got all settled into the apartment.. this is most recent. My grandma IL has a lake house 2 hours away from the apartment. We went to it over the weekend. The drive there sucked.. but it was even worse when.. both days we were there I had to watch everyone go on a boat and jet skis and have fun... while I stayed at the house having to go to the bathroom constantly. I was just crying and crying.

I woke up today goin potty over and over and nauseas. I just get worse and worse... I can't go to the dr till we have insurance... which is July 2nd. My hubby can't understand why I haven't gone out looking for jobs and every time my answer is my stomach is too unreliable right now.. I can't even make it across the street. He is so frustrated, I'm frustrated.

ok im done.

Aww honey I am so sorry to hear this, so sorry. I think a lot of going to the toilet can be psychological too, it is for me but it easy to say.

Diagnosis in October 2007: Non Specific Colitis (possible UC but not confirmed) (Mild inflammation on Rectum, Plus some patchy inflammation on Right side of Colon).

Medication Prescribed: 800mg Mesalazine (Asacol) 3 times a day

Symptoms: One or sometimes two BM's a day often linked to anxiety and stress (IBS). In remission since October.

I'm really sorry you're having so much trouble! If you have a good supply on hand, you might try increasing the Proctofoam to twice a day to see if it will help calm things down. Or if you still have some Pred, you could even start it - if you have any refills on the prescription, Pred is pretty inexpensive.

Hope you feel better soon, and welcome to Texas.

I'm so sorry you are sick during such a big event in your life.  Don't forget......You will get through this and you will get better and you still will have loads and loads of time to find a job and zoom around the lake on the jet ski.

Couldn't you try some OTC meds like imodium?  I would definitely call your former doctor for advice.  Make sure to get the number of a local pharmacy in your new town before you call in case the doc wants to call in a rx for you.  Also start looking for a new local doc now.

I have all sorts of sympathy for you.  My husband and I moved 1500 miles when we were around your age.  That was 25 years ago and I still consider it one of the most stressful periods of my life.  (It was during that time that I deveoped what I consider the my first intestinal symptoms (D and weight loss).

Make sure you eat enough and rest enough and in your spare time as you feel better, enjoy your new city as a tourist on vacation would.

I hope you feel better soon.
UC since 10/05, first symptoms felt as early 1983

so sorry you are going through all that, def see if your GI can call in a script for you. I just upped myself from 5mg of pred to 20mg and after 5 days am seeing some relief. I hate pred too, but it may help you out.

Last year I had to miss so many fun things b/c of my UC, it was horrible, I know how you feel!

I called my dr in Ga and they called in a rx for my Lialda.. thing is now it's almost 300 dollars that I don't have to pick it up.. no insurance. So now I have no idea what to do. There was some card the nurse gave me last time I went in Ga that makes Lialda no more than 25 dollars even without insurance... but I can't find it. I'm hoping I will.
