Does anyone here have long stringy green poo?  Its weird, what does that mean??  I'm really starting to get scared

Did you eat spinach or something green? I am not sure what it means. Do you have UC? Maybe someone else knows, if not you might want to mention it to your doctor. Good luck.

What meds are you on at this time?

Green poo can mean a few things...just found this that might help:

The long/stringy .... do you mean pencil thin stools? That could be IBS, tight sphincter during bms, rectal inflammation, stress.....

Can you give a bit more information and maybe make a signature that includes some so that we don't keep asking you the same info....

*Heather*Status: mini flare Dec 28... tapered to every 4th night
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~5ASA: Asacol (6 daily) + Salofalk enemas (increase for flares tapered to maintenance)
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed
~Probiotic 3(Natural Factors Protec) bedtime + 1 (Primadophilus Reuteri) occasionally
~multi-digestive enzymes as needed ....zymactive 3 - 5x daily
~Ranitidine,Pariet (reflux) Effexor XR 75mg;  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

Does it sink to the bottom of the toilet and is it mostly diahrea? If so, get checked for C. diff
diagnosed with left-sided UC in 1997. (45cm)

12 caps of colazal    9 caps Colazal

Asparagus or spinach will do that to me.
Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Avascular necrosis in both shoulders is my "forever" gift from steroid therapy.

And don't rule out bile.

dx proctitis in 1987
dx UC in 1991, was stable until 1998

1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics

2000 lost all my B-12 stores and became anemic

2001 opted for j-pouch surgery- now living life med-free

Too much of certain food dyes can also turn poop green. The purple mountain dew in large quantities makes very green poop.

Prontonix once daily for acid reflux, zofran 8mg every six hours for nausea
Remicade started 3/1/08...just had 4th infusion
