I have been on Remicade since august of 2007. It never fails about 2 weeks before an iv i start to develop a respritory infection. I have pretty bad allergies this time of year. (i am currenty on over the counter drugs for it. my insurance will not cover prescription allergy medicine due to claritan and zurtek being on OTC).  I go in and get an antibiotic and then wait 6 weeks till i need them again. does anyone else suffer from Respritory issues with Remicade?

i got an infection every time i got my infusions.  i had to stop the remi and start humira (due to antibody build up).  i now seem to constantly have an infection with humira also.
Diagnosed in 1999, hospitalized once.  Not responsive to meds.  Currently on 12 Asacol, , 8 ampules of Gastrocrom, 6 grams Colestid, flagyl, remicade for my UC.  Also have migraines and take B-4, B-2, for the prevention of them.
Deciding whether or not to have surgery at this time.

Thanks Gela.... I dont know what is going on. I keep getting respritory infections. I also seem to get brohncitis (spelling sorry) once a year now. I mean i would rather a respriory infection than a flare but my goodness ...

Yup - I found that it was the dust in my house and at work that made me extremely vulnerable. Got a HEPA filter for home, got a HEPA vacuum cleaner and wear a 3M doctors mask at work when the air-con is particularly bad or someone is coughing and spluttering near me. I look like a fool, but I don't get sick any more.

Mind you, I am on Golimumab rather then Remicade, but its still a TNF-a blocker.
