Hi Everyone, Please let me know what you think of my symptoms.
It started out as bloating a couple months ago. Then I got diarrhea off and on. For the past 3 weeks or so, I have been weak and fatigued off and on, low grade fever, somewhat constipated, more loose bowel movements, dull rectal pain, shooting rectal pain, abdominal pain(lower and seems to move around), loss of appetite, stool changes in consistency often. Up to 10 bowel movements each day.
I should also mention that I was almost certain I have candida albicans, an abnormal amount in my digestive tract, so I went on the anti candida diet. This decreased bloating a few days but, these symptoms lead me to believe it is just my body's detox reaction. I ended up in the ER two days ago, and I told them Everything, and they did some bloodwork and an x ray, found nothing. I have an appointment with a gi doc coming up on Thurs.
I am confused and scared about my symptoms. Please give me some feedback!!!
Thanks for reading.

The symptoms you are describing can be quite a few gastro problems. Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic problem that lasts months or years.

You really need to get a stool sample tested by pathology for c.diff and get a colonoscopy done by your GI. Without that, there really isn't much more that anyone can say.

In the mean time, all I will say is keep you liquids up, "try" to eat healthy LOW FIBRE foods like pasta and rice, and finally DO NOT take any medication like Imodium that "stoppers things up".

Have you consulted a GI?
Have you tried a probiotic to replenish good bacteria in the guts?
Have you tried a fiber supplement to bulk up your stool?

The things Severin mentioned are things that need to be ruled out to get a correct diagnosis.

I hope you find the answers!

I agree with what has already been said here. Why do you think you have candida? Were you previously on antibiotics? How long did you stay on the anti-candida diet? If you had a "reaction" within 2-5 days of the diet, it "may" have been a die-off reaction, but it's a great idea to be checked by a doctor. Could me more to it than that.

And, a test may not necessarily come back positive for fungus. If you think an antifungal diet may help, you will need to stay on it for more than a few days. That will be the only way to know for sure if you have a fungal problem...if you start feeling better after being on the diet for awhile. That was the only way I found out I had a fungal condition. Doctors never did "find" any fungal problem with me, even though it eventually turned out to be the underlying issue with my UC symptoms.

Let us know what the doc says. Hopefully, you'll get some piece of mind.
