Today I had my first Remicade infusion.  It went well.  I dozed most of the time I was getting the infusion and have continued to nap most of the afternoon.  I think the tiredness is from the benadryll.  I am interested in hearing how long it has taken others to see results from Remicade.  I expect to continue on 150 mg of Imuran, and 9 colazals.  I will start tapering off the present 20 mg of Prednisone.

I was better after the second infusion, much better after the third. Hope it works out for you.

Just a note- a lot of docs are taking Remi patients off immunosuppressants because the small number of lymphoma cases reported all involved people taking both Remi and an immunosuppressant. You may want to talk this over with your GI.

I had my first infusion almost two weeks ago. I've had a tiny improvement--little less blood and fewer BM's (only a couple days w/in the last 10 days have been "normal flare" days). It depends on the person when Remi will start working--hopefully it'll start really soon for you!

The tiredness is definitely Benadryl (sp?)--I slept through most of my infusion and when I came home.

Judy--How long ago did you start Remi and are you still on it?

I started Remi in March, 2006 and am still on it. I now haven't been on Pred for so long, I don't even remember the dosages or tapering schedules any more.
