Hello everyone:
My mom is on remicade and tapering down prednisone at the same time. She is down to 10 mg. (5 starting tommorow). The last two days she has been experiencing a fever about (99, 100.5) and this is really the first time where its been consistent. In the past few weeks or month, she has had a fever but only really for a few hours or so. SHe will go in for her 4th infusion in mid-august. Do you think this fever can be a side effect of remicade or what would you reccomend we do?
Thank you for your advice, it is certainly appreciated.
Moms Meds: 12 asacol a day, 10 mg pred, rowasa enemas (1), remicade infusions, Imodium (if needed).

I think she should get to the doctor right away, since she has a higher risk of infections and has a fever, she could get a bad infection and needs to see a doctor ASAP.

I was told that if i developed a fever over 100 to call my GI while on remicade.

Is your mom still having symptoms? inflamation in the colon can cause a low grade fever.
