subtotal colecomy

any of you have a subtotal colecomy . and if so did you have a good outcome.
what could you eat and did you have any blockages. and if so when did that happen. and do you have to be careful like the rest of your life to not eat certain things or to much to make it block..
i had a subtotal coloectomy on june 20th and still recovering. I am not eating solids yet.but so worried that something will go wrong when i do. I am healing well as far as i know at this point. but want to know if any of you had this and what is your story. i need advice.

Subtotal colectomy isn't often done for UC, so you may not find many here who have had that procedure. Most surgeons do total colectomy for UC. Do you have a colostomy or ileostomy? If so, you may find help also on the ostomy board here at HealingWell.

Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Avascular necrosis in both shoulders is my "forever" gift from steroid therapy.
